What's the difference between Bipolar Disorder and Major Depression?

Question by .: What's the difference between Bipolar Disorder and Major Depression?
All I know is that in Bipolar disorder, there's no cure; it's like cancer. One moment you can feel REALLY happy, and the other moment you can feel REALLY sad. Is that all? The one thing I know that Bipolar and Major Depression share is that you can have hallucinations.

Thanks in advance, I just want to learn more about these mental disorders.
